It’s not all about your own pins
Did you know that getting traffic from Pinterest is more than just sharing your own Pinterest images? You don’t need a ton of your own pins to start. It’s actually MORE important to have a Pinterest strategy and share other people’s great pins on Pinterest than to share your own content.
Develop your brand’s story
As a business on Pinterest you want to create a Pinterest account that captures the lifestyle of your customer. You want a potential customer to see how your brand fits into their lifestyle. If you sell purses, your target customer would also be interested in other accessories that complete their look. Help the customer see how your product fits into their whole life by repinning other pins they would like.
Repin images that tell your Brand Story
Sharing and building a community matter on Pinterest. If you only share your own content your pins, Pinterest won’t show your pins to as many people. You want to learn to connect with you audience and build a story (interests and desires) of your brand and business. Inspire a lifestyle that your audience will want to share with others.
Repin Quality pins
It’s actually super important to share only quality pins. Pinterest’s algorithm shows pins from pinners with high engagement (clicks through to websites, repins, likes). By pinning great pins your pins get more exposure.
Quality pins have:
- A great visual image – vertical and high quality.
- Keyword description – describes who, what, when or why a user would use it.
- The pin actually links to a reliable source – the website when the pin originated is a valid url.
Pin throughout the day
Pinning throughout the day helps to Get Traffic with Pinterest because your pins reach a wider auditions when users log onto to Pinterest throughout the day. People have reported good results with pinning 15-30 times a day. Setting up a pinning scheduler like Tailwind can let your pins be seen through the day and therefore reach more users.
