Clickbank Marketplace- What’s Really Going On

January 8, 2013 By: Robin Cockrell1 Comment

If you use Clickbank Marketplace as a resource for affiliate marketing, you may have noticed some scary changes. All of a sudden your account is color coded. They have put in risk tiers. They are saying there will be more and higher charge back fees. Pretty scary I know. Is it really a bad thing though?

I don’t think so. Clickbank Marketplace has been around a long time and they are very reliable. I have used them for three years and paychecks are on time every time. It’s also very easy to promote the products on there. The thing is though, not all products there are great. Many think of clickbank as a scam because they have bought products there that were just crap.

So the good news about this changes in the Clickbank Marketplace is that it will weed out the spammers. You see the same crackdown that we as affiliates are experiencing is also what the vendors who have there products are experiencing. They too have a rating system now. You can now see how many stars they are rated.

The stars are based on the return rate and complaints. If you see a product with 5 stars, it’s a pretty good bet. It actually helps us as affiliates be more successful. If you see only two stars, well don’t go there. The product gets taken out of the Clickbank Marketplace when the stars begin to drop. New vendor are given 3 stars and they can go up or down, depending on the performance of their product.

Overall this is really a good thing. Clickbank’s reputation will get better over time with this system. I would love to see Clickbank raise it’s reputation as it is the easiest place with so much of a variety of products to promote. The Clickbank Marketplace by far has way more to offer than any other affiliate site out there, with maybe the exception of Amazon.

Change is inevitable. So many fear it, but I embrace it. I have been working from home in my pajamas for 3 years now and have lived through many changes. There was the penguin and panda update. That about killed my blogs. I have had sites hacked. I have had my Squidoo lens locked down as well. I am still standing and making a very good living. Obstacles are really opportunities and selling clickbank product is one of them.
