How Can I Make Money on My Blog?
Are you asking yourself how can I make money on my blog? There are a number of ways you can go but the most profitable in my personal experience is affiliate marketing and ad revenue. Both are streams of residual income that grow over time. The money you can earn with affiliate marketing and ad revenue can more than pay your mortgage each month if you are willing to learn how its done and put in the time to actually do it.
Blogs Make Money with Affiliate Marketing!
With affiliate marketing you place links in your blog posts to online retailers and merchants that give you a commission for the sales that take place as a result of your referral.
If you are reviewing a product, wouldn’t it be great to slip a link to the product in the review, sell it and make money? Of course it would.
Perhaps you are writing a recipe and you want to link to a fancy kitchen gadget that makes the recipe perfect? You can make money that way.
There are countless ways that bloggers make money with affiliate marketing! Reviews, recipes, crafts, special diets, and personal experiences can all be turned into cold, hard cash!
Affiliate marketing is a way of advertising products on your blog and making money. I make a full-time living off affiliate marketing income and it’s something that I have built over time with my blog. I took my personal experience and products and turned them into a blog that makes money.
To build an effective stream of affiliate marketing income with your blog you need targeted traffic and you need good original content written in such a way that makes a reader click and buy.
Affiliate marketing works if you know how to work it. There are really good affiliate marketing classes for bloggers that can take you step by step through making money online with your blog. I highly suggest you invest in one. What business grows without some investment? You can’t expect to make money with your blog if you aren’t willing to invest in it.
Blogs Make Money with Ad Revenue
Ad revenue is another way to generate income with your blog. You can place advertisements on your blog and make money that way too. When a reader clicks on an ad on your blog, you will receive money for it.
There are lots of different ad revenue programs that you can have on your blog, some companies may even approach you for an ad space and pay per month once you start to gain some decent targeted traffic.
Ad revenue is a nice way to get some extra money with your blog or it could be the entire focus depending on your niche. There are a lot of people who make good money with just ads alone. Recipe bloggers, craft bloggers, and diet bloggers do very well with ad revenue just to name a few.
Affiliate Links & Ads Will Do You NO Good Without…
Keywords
Keywords are the words that people are searching to find your blog. You need to be using a good keyword tool to help you dig out the best words to use in your blog posts. A good keyword tool will give you this information.
Do not attempt to write blog posts without keywords because you are taking a stab in the dark at getting targeted traffic to your blog. Targeted traffic converts sales!
SEO
It’s important that you get your search engine optimization in place. SEO is not some mystery of the blogging universe, or at least it doesn’t have to be. Good SEO is simply placing your keywords in the most effective places for search engines to pick up.
Targeted Traffic
Traffic is the life blood of a blog that makes money, without it, you can’t make sales or generate ad revenue. Why does targeted traffic matter? Because targeted traffic brings sales. When people find exactly what it is they are searching for – they click and buy.
Content is Still King
Blogging is not all keywords and SEO – content still reigns king and knowing how to write a blog post with good content that converts sales takes some practice. Good content is what will convert sales on your blog. The keywords and the SEO will get the targeted traffic there BUT your content will be what determines if you make the sale.
