When I first started Pajama Affiliates, I confess, I did ask for them. I got a few here and there Thing is, they were rarely effective. I think solicited testimonials have a different feel about them as opposed to someone really excited about your products and services. I mean if you have to ask?
Is Soliciting for Customer Testimonials a Good Idea?
If you do solicit testimonials and are new or relatively new in your business, people usually don’t feel a strong connection to you. They find it easy to ignore your requests for testimonials. If I asked for testimonials today as opposed to when I first started out, I would get more response and feedback because I have established a relationship and loyalty. This takes time.
Now all businesses are different. With Pajama Affiliates, what we teach takes time to implement and see the results. You aren’t likely to go through our courses and make a ton of money over night. Our testimonials come from people who joined us months ago or even a year ago. Patience has been a big deal for us. We had to wait for our customers to reap the rewards and see the results.
A solicited testimonial in the beginning would be something like, “great courses that are easy to follow“. Something that really doesn’t give a perspective buyer what they need which is to know that what you are offering works and gets results.
I think many of us try too hard to control, not just in business, but all areas of our lives. In this era of instant gratification, we rush things. We push and not just in business. We want to see results now now!
We want the house built before we lay down the foundation. This won’t sustain you long term.
Power in Authentic Customer Testimonials
If you want to get customer testimonials, keep your eye on the prize and just keep doing your business to the very best of your ability and give people value. Give 100% and focus on getting results for your clients and customers and the testimonials will, in time, come in completely organically and they will be powerful.

If you focus on the prize, keep pushing forward, I think you will find not only do the testimonials start rolling in, but the money as well. It’s a snowball effect and there really are no shortcuts.
