I am going to share with you the easiest and cheapest way to start affiliate marketing. This is exactly how I started. Now I do it full time and it is my only source of income. It’s so easy and cheap, it’s just not even funny. It’s perfect if you are lost and don’t know how to start affiliate marketing.
First of course you have to have your niche or area of interest pinned down. You will also need a product that supports that. You can start on Clickbank searching for products if you haven’t found one yet. Clickbank is a network where thousands and thousands of merchants list their products and they pay is 40% commissions or above.
Next, you will need to purchase a domain. These are very cheap. You can get one for just a few bucks a year. I suggest a dot com, but you can opt for dot net, dot us ect…, if you choose the cheapest of options. The reason I suggest a dot com is simply because as you become more experienced, and go from beginner to novice, the dot com will serve you better. Don’t stress about it too much now though, for now I am just talking about how to start affiliate marketing.
So once you have that domain, you can forward the product that you selected for it to it. You want to do this because direct affiliate links are not welcome just anywhere online. So in other words when you type out that domain name on the web, and someone clicks on it, it directs to the sales page of the product that you get paid for.
Now the next step in how to get started in affiliate marketing is to just find a a couple of article directories and start writing. I used Ezine and Street Articles. Create a profile there and start writing about your niche and link your new domain name in the articles. Concentrate on just a few of these article directories so that you can build a following there.
This is exactly how I started affiliate marketing 4 years ago, without a website. I had lots of articles on Ezine and I began to see some money come in. What is even better is I also learned by trial and error how to get those articles to rank in the search engines. It was an excellent training ground for me.
The coolest thing about the fact that I had the same domain name is that I was free to test different products as well by just forwarding a new one to the same domain. I never had to go back and change links in existing articles, I just had to change the forwarding on the domain. The second coolest thing about this is that when I did build my site or blog, I could then again change the forwarding on my domain again to go there. Ta da, instant backlinks already built to my blog or site!
So if you have been sitting there wondering how to start affiliate marketing, there ya go. Just do it!
