Want Increase Your Affiliate Marketing Conversion Rate?
There are many out there who still have the mindset that affiliate marketing is just a numbers game. The belief that if you can drive enough traffic you will make sales. While this is true to a degree, this belief causes many a marketer to leave a lot of money on the table because they aren’t taking the time to focus and increase affiliate marketing conversion rates.
All the traffic in the world is worth squat if it isn’t converting into money! I know bloggers with millions of page-views that are making very little money, why? Because they are too focused on driving traffic that isn’t targeted towards the content they are delivering.
They are out social sharing for hours and hooking up with other bloggers for this ‘link up’ and that ‘link up’ but they aren’t really doing anything to convert sales or make money with all this traffic. What a waste of time!
If you have a website that has everything from trimming your dogs nails to freezer recipes – there’s an issue! You have not targeted your audience very well and there’s a good chance that Google has no clue what your site is about.
Having a targeted audience is going to convert you more sales than if you have one that is all over the place. If they came looking for coupons and your blog posts about packing a school lunch is featured, chances are you’re not going to keep that reader very long!
Stop the madness! Pick a topic that you can really relate too and make that the focus of your blog. When you do this, you’ll find that you’re going to be able to relate to your reader a lot better than if you’re randomly pulling topics out your butt to blog about. You’ll also be able to internally link to other posts more which is great for SEO and keeping your relevancy.
If I come to your site looking for a hamburger recipe, I’m certainly not going to stick around to read about your menopausal tips. Right? Target your audience and you’ll see much higher conversion rates!
2. Choose Affiliate Marketing Products that are FOCUSED!
If you want to convert affiliate sales on our blog, you need to make sure the product you choose is spot on to what the reader needs. If you’re writing a recipes for the crockpot, most likely the reader already has a crockpot – so don’t link to a crockpot! Instead, you need to think outside the box and choose affiliate products that they didn’t know they couldn’t live without!
If you’re just randomly throwing products in your post because they seem relevant without really thinking about the reader, you’re going to fail at converting sales. You can convert more affiliate sales in a post when you give the reader products that they didn’t even know they needed! Stay relevant, but think outside the box.
3. Write Your Blog Post For Conversion
Some blog posts I land on just give me a headache. They are long paragraphs with zero breaks. Little use of images or subheadings. Readers click off of this kind of post! If they want a novel they will buy a book.
You also need some strong calls to action. You need to be calling out your link and making them pop! If the option to buy something is not obvious, people may leave you site and go somewhere else.
You post should be visually appealing. Eye appeal is buy appeal. If you want to increase your affiliate marketing conversion rate, appeal to the reader and give them what they came for!
4. Relate to Your Audience!
Doesn’t matter if it’s a blog post, a Facebook post, a tweet or whatever, getting personal and letting your personality shine will convert more sales. I guarantee it! Touching emotions and sharing your own personal experience will convert way more sales than just dropping a link will.
I get to see conversion rates first hand on this site right here with all the digital products that we sell. I see how many clicks, and how many sales. I can tell you first hand that those that are getting up close and personal out perform those that don’t hands down.
I occasionally run contests on my site and offer prizes for the one who makes the most sales. The winner is always one with a high conversion rate. The one with the high conversion rate always has a post that is really personal, sharing their experience with the products and tapping into the emotions of people. These people have double, triple the conversion rates of those that are just popping a couple sentences with no emotion and link dropping.
A check this out with the link looks like spam if you are sharing on places like Facebook. Even when I share on Google Plus, I add some catchy sentences and use hashtags to get found. If you aren’t doing this, I am telling you, you are leaving money on the table.
This goes for your blog posts as well. People buy from a place of emotion, not logic. Just telling them to check something out doesn’t convert very well. People who are more personal in their blogs get repeat traffic, I promise you this. You will build a more solid following like this.
There are other benefits with getting personal with your audience as well. It builds trust and trust builds relationships and relationships and networking are what this affiliate marketing business is all about.
