Where on the Buyer Scale is Your Reader?
Understanding the above diagram and knowing where your buyer is at and where you keywords and content fall into this funnel will greatly help you to improve your conversions.
Awareness and Interest: People in this stage are fact and information gathering. Their wallets are not out, and they typically aren’t ready to make a purchase. These people use search terms geared towards seeking general information.
For example: Assume I have or suspect I have high blood pressure. I would search for something like “symptoms of high blood pressure”, and hopefully land on a post all about the symptoms. Perhaps I would search “causes of high blood pressure” next. Or perhaps search “treatments of high blood pressure”.
Treatment of high blood pressure could be a wide variety of things, from diet, to a visit to the doctor. It could be very broad.
Please note that broad topics like this are not usually where a reader converts to a buyer.
These types of keywords and posts are not usually geared to convert high amounts of sales.
Education: This one really falls close with the above phase of the buying funnel. I might be searching even further here on the high blood pressure. Maybe I search “Is high blood pressure hereditary”. “Is high blood pressure curable without medication”. I am gaining my information to make an informative decision. Will I just go to the doctor and get pills or will I explore further into other remedies.
I might research diets, exercise, supplements, all sorts of things.
Evaluation: So let’s now assume that I have educated myself. This is the stage where I have pretty much figured out what route I am going to go with my high blood pressure issue.
Maybe I have decided to go to the doctor and not go any further.
Maybe I have decided that changing my diet is the best way to treat this. Perhaps I have decided on all natural supplements or an exercise routine.
I may use search terms like “diets to control high blood pressure” or “best exercise for high blood pressure” or maybe “natural supplements to control high blood pressure” or even meditation for high blood pressure. They may use a term such as “best natural supplements to treat high blood pressure”.
Sales will be made in this stage, but if you can narrow down and target the last and final stage, conversions will rise.
Decision: If you have a buyer in this stage they will not be searching with the same keywords or for the same content that is in the top three stages. They have already moved through those phases. They have done their research, collected facts and data and have made a decision to purchase. The keywords and content used here will be quite different from that which you would use in the top stages of the funnel.
They may be searching for a specific diet, a specific supplement. Maybe I have decided that grape seed extract is my best bet. I would search with a term something like “grape seed extract for high blood pressure”.
I land on your post and Ta-Da! A purchase is made and you earn a commission!

How to Find Buyer Keywords for Informational Posts?
Robin has made a fortune online helping women in the dating niche by targeting their PROBLEMS.
Problems are an excellent way to sell your reader something they need.
Most of us have problems right?
So we can relate to our readers based on our own experiences and target their problems with our keyword tool.
This is a great backdoor technique for highly competitive niches.
People are searching in Google for answers to their problems…

Narrowing Down Problems and Offering Specific Solutions
Take those “matter of fact” keywords and turn them into solutions for people asking questions.

Put yourself in the readers shoes before picking your keywords. “Am I likely to buy something if I type this in keyword?” Good keywords are not all targeted towards a potential buyer. We can turn readers into buyers by offering them solutions to their problem – but it starts with the right keywords… and the right keywords stay narrow and target their audiences.

Your Title Needs to Contain Your Keyword!
Your keywords MUST be in your title! The next portion of this course is going to be talking about delivering to your reader exactly what they came to see.
Targeting Your Titles and Delivering What the Reader Wants!
Titles are so important! It’s the first that people (and search engines) are going to notice about the post. Your titles need to contain keywords that people are searching for. A title is one of your biggest SEO indicators and helps the search engines know what to rank your post for.
Titles should deliver to the reader (and search engine) EXACTLY what it is they are going to find in the blog post. This is KEY to converting sales once you get the traffic. Titles should not be broad, they should be laser focused!
In this next series of videos, we’re going to cover this in detail the best we can using real examples.
