There are a zillion things that you know, that you love, that you are good at that you could tap into. Most don’t or won’t because they operate from the brain, mind or ego, whatever it is that you want to call it. They have a thought, then they disqualify it. They disqualify it because they don’t know how. The brain wants to know how. The heart does not have to know how.
How many things are buried inside of you that you could be sharing but you have disqualified them? You disqualify them because they don’t fit into the mold of what your mind thinks is possible. All you have is your past experience to draw on.
How many ideas have you dismissed because you couldn’t see the bigger picture. We are so conditioned to attach to an end result, that our greatest ideas get tossed to the curb because we can’t see what the end result will be. The most amazing creations start with an idea with absolutely no clue as to how.
This course is an example of this. It’s been an idea in my head for so long. I did not know how. I still don’t know how as I am creating this. I have no clue what all is going in this course. I have no past experience creating a course like this. I have always done step by step, strategic courses. Never a course from such a place of the heart!
If you can just go with an idea and let go of how, the bigger picture will emerge. More ideas will come. You will expand! You will grow!
So now what? Well we have an exercise for you. It’s going to take you some time. DO IT! Don’t skip it and think, oh I don’t need to do that. You bought this course, so get your money’s worth. Not doing this exercise is like going to a ball game and sitting in the car. Going to the gym and watching everyone else work out.
Most important of all, not doing this exercise validates to yourself that you aren’t worth it. You are worth it. You are worth investing time and effort into yourself. DO IT!
Now, that you have committed to doing it, I am going to break it to you that there are five(5) parts to it.
You will need a pen and paper or notebook, or you can type it in a document on your computer. I prefer the later, it’s a lot faster and with my handwriting, easier to reflect back on.
Warning: You are going to feel really good after this exercise!
Part 1
Write down, type up the first 100 assets that you have available to you. For those that still have a need to have some control, you can number them. 😉 These assets can be like your computer, laptop, phone, friends. Consider both external and internal assets, write them all down. Humor? Stick to itness (that is not a word I know so spelling police, hold your fire please). Once you get going on this one, you will probably be able to come up with more than a 100. Keep going if you want. No judgement, if it pops in your head write it down even if it sounds nuts.
Part 2
Write down 100 assets that are available to you but you don’t have access to right now. Assets that you are capable of accessing from a place of no fear or limits that you impose on yourself. Limits because you can’t see the end result.
For example, I have access to killer video editing skills and creation available to me. I have Kyle Cease, who created this exercise available to me. I might not have access to him now, but I have it in me to get that access. Let your imagination run wild with this one. When the mind tells you this is crazy, ignore it! Keep going.
Part 3
Lets take these assets one step further. Write down 100 assets that you will have access to when you acknowledge and embrace your value and your greatness inside. It’s there.
Even if it feels stupid or silly, write it down. Do not disqualify anything. If you thought of it, if it popped in your head, it’s valid! I will have access to Ted Talks, workshops with great leaders, personal assistants, video creators and on and on.
Part 4
Now write down 100 skills that you have. Whatever pops up, write it down. Can you run a mile? Can you walk to the mailbox? Are you a very patient person. Internal and external skills write them all down.
Part 5
Write down 100 things that you know based on experiences in your life. Do you know how to end a relationship? Do you know how to calm your mind? What has experience taught you.
So now what?
You have a list of 500 things, assets, skills, future assets, knowledge Do not disqualify or judge any of them. Spend some time and reflect on how valuable you really are. Accept that you don’t have to know how it’s all going to come together, but that it can and will come together to help lead you to your purpose and passion.
You should be feeling really good right now. When you feel good, you will attract more of the same and you open up your creativity.
