You might be writing on a topic that no one searches or is too competitive to compete. If you want to make money with your blogging, you need to know that people are searching for what it is that you are writing for, or else you’re shooting in the dark.
Not having a keyword tool is going to cost you a lot more money than having one will. Don’t skip this step if you are serious about earning an income with your blogging, you need to know where the market is.
Is Your Keyword Buyer Focused?
Great, you’re using a keyword tool right? Is the keyword that you’re using buyer focused? Do you even know what a buyer focused keyword is?
Not all keywords are the same, you can have the best keyword in the world to rank for but if it isn’t targeting an audience that buys, it’s not worth much in terms of money.
A good blog post that makes money has a keyword that aims at turning a reader into a buyer of something.
Did You Deliver on Your Keyword?
A lot of people will pick a keyword and not deliver on the topic. You absolutely have to give the reader what they think they are coming to see.
Check Google, make sure that keyword is bringing back results that match what you want to talk about. Sometimes the way we see it, is not the way that Google sees it.
Once you know you and Google are on the same page with your keyword, make sure that you actually STICK TO THE TOPIC. Don’t stray off topic in your blog post or you’ll lose the readers attention. Are you writing about everything from tampons to copy-cat Starbucks recipes? It’s a bit hard to target a market when your blog is all over the place. Having a small, targeted market that you can relate too is very important! Your blog should be clear that you are in a certain niche that relates to the keywords and the audience.
Is Your Content Valuable?
Are you giving good content to your readers or are you just rehashing other articles you found on the internet? Content is king and that doesn’t change, not ever. You need to focus on the value you can give to a reader because Google certainly is!
