What a crazy title! What can you possibly learn about affiliate marketers playing words with friends. Maybe learn is not the right word. Maybe an aha moment would be a better choice. You see I happen to know that successful affiliate marketers have a few things in common. I am going to talk about one of those things today so keep reading and it will start to make sense.
I play words with friends, often in the bathroom I confess. When I started playing, I wasn’t so good at it. I would win a few games here and there, but mostly I lost. One day a man started a game with me. Oh boy, he just creamed me the first game. There was at least a 200 point spread between us. My first instinct as is with many was gosh, I don’t want to play with him anymore.
But I didn’t stop. I kept playing him. I got better. I learned from him. The point difference got smaller and smaller and finally I beat him. More than once! Then came along another man, same thing happened. He creamed me bad and this is after I had gotten better. I keep playing and yes I have finally beat him a time or two as well. I think the two should play each other!
I also get new people often challenging me to games. Needless to say, now that I am better than I was, there are people that I can cream as well. Some of these people after I cream them in a game of words with friends, decline my next game request, many of them actually. I don’t get it. How will they get better if they stay on the playing field of those that are doing the same as them.
This is what I am talking about with successful affiliate marketers, marketers than are making more and more money and seeing success. They stay and they play the game. The go hang out with those that are doing it and doing better than them. They step out of that comfort zone and embrace the discomfort of growth!
These are the affiliate marketers that make a difference and as you can guess this applies to life in general. The people you associate with can bring you up higher , pull you down lower or keep you stuck in the same place. You decide! Do you want to get better or do you want to stay right where you are in your little safe cocoon? Do you want to learn from people who are making money or people who don’t make much money?
Ask yourself about groups that you spend your time in or the people that you spend time with. Are the moving forward and growing or just doing the same ole thing? Is the vibration in the group high? How do you feel in that group? Are the people in it more successful than you or about the same. Think about it!

I like the analogy Robin, never heard of Words with Friends but sounds interesting. I hope by being part of the pajama affiliates group I can grow up like you say rather than going down.
Keep swimming Ash, keep swimming!
I haven’t played this game but I love the analogy!! Swim upstream with the fish!!
